Five On Friday Presidential Edition

Bringing back a semi-regular tradition of five songs vaguely related on a single subject. Since we are currently dealing with a phony president trying to hang on to the job he doesn’t want in order to avoid being convicted of various crimes that his current occupation has shielded him from. In order to do this, he is almost tearing down the house. This five on Friday is a tribute to the men who actually did the job.

James Cagney playing George M. Cohan in a song about Franklin Roosevelt

Harry Truman played the piano and loved all forms of music but always maintained his favorite song was the Missouri Waltz

Bill Clinton brought rock cool with the Saxophone. During his inaugural a whole raft of saxophonists played for him.

The Obamas brought back great music to the White House not the least of which was with Lin-Manuel Miranda and what became the beginning of the phenomenal “Hamilton”

And Thomas Jefferson played the violin as in this wonderful scene from 1776
