Dona Nobis Pacem – 2016

It started ten years ago with a small crowd of regulars who visited Queen Mimi Lenox at bloggingham castle on the web.  It was a wondrous place filled with stories, games, poetry, music, and a rather fanciful dungeon.  Oh and there was a beagle, cats galore, wildlife wandering the woods, and always always a shoulder to cry on or laughs to be shared.

In this magical place her majesty had a rather large idea.  If it could be peaceful there, then why couldn’t it be peaceful everywhere, so in 2006 she told a story:  The Silence of Peace, Papa’s Marbles.  An invitation was issued to all the followers.  On just one day each year, everyone would put up the same phrase, Dona Nobis Pacem – Grant Us Peace.  This phrase would go forth around the world to proclaim a desire for all people.  What started with about 50 people and a few countries has grown.

Dona Nobis Pacem on the eve of it’s tenth anniversary has now reached all seven continents of the world (yes there is a peace globe in Antarctica) and more than 200 countries.  The globes and stories now fill several volumes that we can barely peruse just a few of the wonders.

So in this time of turmoil.  Take a break.  Get your globe.  Read the stories.  Post your globe or tell your story.  Let the wish go around the world once more with love and hope altogether say

Jamie – Where does the time go? One minute we’re peace blogging in the year 2006 and the next minute we’re here about to elect a new President…still trying to change the world one peace globe at a time.

I am in love with the Bearatones. The third one from the left is the cutest.
