Just In Time

Breathed is Back

I don’t know about everyone else, but this political season is such that I just want to know, “Has anyone been sworn in yet?”.  It is already too long, too loud, and too ugly, and I am more than ready for it to be too, too over.  The only bright light in the firmament, Breathed is back and it took the triumvirate of Bush, Clinton, and Trump to do it.  If you are on Facebook, you can get regular doses of this very necessary cure to whatever political ails may be perturbing your universe.  To echo one of my favorite movie quotes, “Life goes on. Maybe there won’t be marriage… maybe there won’t be sex… but, by God, there’ll be dancing.”  Thank you Mr. Breathed, I may survive until November of 2016.

    Jamie… yes… I have an edit function.

After much resistance, I have completed my profile on Facebook and friended a few people… mostly family members. But now I find myself spending time in the morning just staring at videos of baby chicks trying to snuggle with cats or kittens trying to snuggle with Rottweilers. And I suppose it is some kind of cure for what politically ails ya.

Well that settles that. Who among the trusted members of the regulars want to be writers? You don’t actually have to do anything but accept the invitation, but it will allow you to edit a message after you have published it. I will need to have your email, if I don’t have it already in order to send you the invite.

Jamie, thanks for hosting this crazy bunch.
Just got back from a family reunion in up state NY, on the St Laurence river, little town called Massena. We flew into Boston rented a car and did a tour of New England and then flew out of Albany NY yesterday at 5;30am, except for Boston. It was a rock and stick driving vacation. Look for places to pull off the road admire the view and get a feel for the world. mostly two lane roads. Thank god for gps and google maps or we would still be stuck some where in Maine going in circles.
General impressions, Maine could save money on speed limit signs as nobody can speed anyway. Roughest roads I’ve ever been on, any where ever.
I’m not in good enough shape to hike the trails for very far in Crawford’s notch state park NH But plan on a rematch at another time and will get myself in better shape, same for the Lake Placid area in NY.
But it was fun and now back to reality and a renters plumbing problems.

Great views of the Presidentials from Crawford Notch. They kind of line up for you there. There’s a great little loop up there – I think it’s on Mount Webster – that takes you up above treeline, and the view to the east is stunning. BTW, WV could give Maine a run for it’s money in the crappy roads category.

jack, glad your back. you put me on to breaking bad years ago and I want to return the favor (if you haven’t seen it yet) by recommending the elmore leonard based “justified” (6 seasons long) which is just as well written and acted. it’s just as violent but even better, it’s funnier by a ky country mile.
as with bb, one must see it from the beginning.

  11. patd says:

one of the best actors in “justified” was walton coggins (an old bama boy, pogo). here’s what wiki says how he did in it:
Goggins’ portrayal of the character Boyd Crowder in Justified garnered nominations for Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2011, for Satellite Award for Best Supporting Actor – Series, Miniseries or Television Film in 2011, for the TV Guide Award for Favorite Villain in 2013, for the Online Film & Television Association’s Television Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2011 and 2014, and for the Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2011, 2013, 2014, and 2015.

  12. patd says:

a bit too much gun-totin’ and violence for my taste but the storyline and the acting make up for it (as well as the pretty/handsome leading actor). this was elmore leonard at his best humorwise. the music was interestingly done. capturing the eastern ky dark coal territory see below

    Video : Justified
Music : Ruby Friedman – You’ll Never Leave Harlan Alive
