5 On Friday – The Finale (Set 200)

5 on Friday - Yule edition

The holiday banner is a fitting one as we gather with Travis for the last time for a 5 on Friday sign in. Participants will continue to sometimes write their own so please do continue to visit. Naturally Travis will continue with his great blogging not to mention being the best commentator on Dancing With The Stars and So You Think You Can Dance.

For almost four years 5 On Friday has shared music with the internet. The creation of our friend Travis of Trav’s Thoughts, it has been a great pleasure. Travis has declared that the 200th edition will be the last. If you wish to get in on the waning weeks or just pay a visit to some wonderful sounds, click on his site to listen to the shared files and say hello/goodbye. Parting is such sweet sorrow, that I will be doing it in song:

Every great entertainer almost always has a signature closing song. Bobby Darin had one of the best with The Curtain Falls

Sometimes you just don’t want something to be over: Never Can Say Goodbye

Sarah McLachlan knows the memories are carried in your heart: I Will Remember You

Then there is always the bitter and sarcastic alternative: Read ‘Em And Weep

And then there is just the simply beautiful: Time To Say Goodbye

Those are all terrific. Thanks for being the early impetus for turning this little idea of posting five songs every Friday into an enjoyable weekly feature.

    Cheers!
