September is my daughter’s birthday month for the next few weeks you get the songs of 1964.

Beatlemania was in full swing.  Of the top 50 songs for the year, nine were by the Fab Four.

  2. 64 — a very great year! Says the other person born in it… I was called the Beatle Baby at the hospital because I was born with Ernie-and-Bert hair. 64 Beatles — loved this set! Happy September Birthday Month to your daughter.

1964 was my birth year too! I won’t ask you how it feels to have a 49 year old child, because my mom already told me what that’s like.

On the day I was born, 11 April, The Beatles had the 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 spots on the Billboard Hot 100. They also had 31, 41, 46, 58, 65, 68, and 79. It’s tough sometimes for later generations to understand how truly remarkable The Beatles were. Nothing at the time sounded like they did. They were honestly revolutionary in terms of modern music.

I still remember the year Sergeant Pepper came out. You couldn’t turn on a radio without getting inundated with the music. Nothing like it had ever been heard.
