Golden Songs – Edition V

5 On FRiday

The 5 On Friday meme was started more than three years ago by our buddy Travis of Trav’s Thoughts. To join in, visit his site, sign in and share your five musical choices for the week.

For the next two weeks I’ll feature the songs that really raked in the Gold winning both a Golden Globe and Oscar with special asterisks *** for those that managed to cart off a Grammy as well.

I’m Easy from Nashville by Keith Carradine

The Windmills of Your Mind from The Thomas Crown Affair by Michel Legrand and Alan & Marilyn Bergman

Beauty and The Beast from Beauty and the Beast by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken ***

Can You Feel The Love Tonight from The Lion King by Tim Rice and Elton John

Colors of the Wind from Pocahontas by Alan menken and Stephen Schwartz ***

  1. Travis says:

I’m Easy – the lyric is so good. Keith Carradine had a way of using unexpected metaphor and simile in his songwriting that gave the end result a timeless quality. “And when your eyes throw light at mine it’s enough to change my mind”. That’s poetry.
